Draft Skate

Last night was the draft skate for the fall house league teams. They neglected to put on the website what we needed to bring, but I guess I should have known. I've done this so many times and I know that they need USA Hockey Registration before going on the ice. That's $35.00. They really neglected to say that we also needed $200.00 for a down payment. YIKES! Fortunately, we had it. Barely, but we had it. Now, we need to pay $700.00 before Nov. 1. Yes, that's a total of $900.00. This is not a cheap sport, people. Also we found out that #5's skates are getting too small. He is now about 1 1/2 sizes bigger, so we will have to invest in new skates soon, I think. The good news is that we got on the team that we wanted with another player that we carpool with. This makes things alot easier. Thank goodness for good friends! We had been away from hockey for a little while, so the ride home last night was interesting to say the least. The hockey smell defies description. The windows were definately down!! First practice - Sept. 8th!
